As an actress, Ms. Krusiec has been described as the“Chinese American Sandra Bullock” (NY Post). She’s best known for her starring role opposite Joan Chenin the romantic comedy Saving Face,directed by Alice Wu, as an awkward, closeted lesbian. The role garnered herinternational acclaim and a Best Actress nomination in the 2005 Golden HorseCeremony, Asia’s Chinese Oscars. The first ever given to an Asian American.
Born in Taiwan and raised in America by herTaiwanese aunt and American uncle, Ms. Krusiec works in Los Angeles, New York andAsia. Ms. Krusiec is sole creatorand performer of her original breakout tour-de-force solo show Made in Taiwan. It’s a comedic yet undeniably honest comingof age story about Krusiec’s Tiger Mom. Made in Taiwanfirst premiered at the HBO Aspen comedy festival in 2002 and placed Michelle ona list of Hollywood Reporter’s Top Ten Rising Stars. Made in Taiwanrecently premiered to sold out crowds at the New York City International Fringefestival and was extended into the Fringe Encores.
Ms. Krusiec has starred opposite the likes ofMichelle Yeoh, Sean Bean, Cameron Diaz, Ashton Kutcher, Drew Barrymore, EvaMendes, Ben Stiller, Reese Witherspoon, Cristina Ricci, James Cromwell, ChristianSlater, Ray Liotta, Donald Sutherland, Anthony Hopkins…just to name a few. In television, Ms. Krusiec has globetrotted to over50 destinations as the host of her own travel series for the DiscoveryChannel. She has starred in herown NBC sitcom, One World andappeared in countless roles on Community, GeneralHospital, Blue Bloods, Secret Life of the American Teenager, Dirty Sexy Money,CSI NY, CSI Miami, NCIS, Nip Tuck, Grey’s Anatomy, Weeds, Mind of the MarriedMan, Cold Case, Without a Trace, Monk among others.
Michelle is a passionate supporter of AsianAmerican causes such as CPAF, Center for the Pacific Asian Family, as anadvocate against domestic violence and sexual assault. She has performed in celebrity readingsof Eve Ensler’s Vagina Monologues, and she performed in Josh Brolin’s all starcast of “Voices of a People” byHoward Zinn and Anthony Arnove.
Ms. Krusiec has just completed work on the feature Knife Fight starring Rob Lowe and willbe appearing in Season 4 of the JJ Abrams show Fringe.
