Shelene Atanacio

At the heart of Filipina – Actress, Author, Producer, Community Activist, and Social Entrepreneur, Shelene Atanacio, is a true creative artist.  Her philosophy of approaching life as an art with every moment an opportunity to create can be seen in every aspect of her life. She is Founder of Adoracion Films and Entertainment, Founder of The VERTE Project, a movement to inspire communities to transform life roles through business, leadership, communication and creativity.  She is the author of the best selling book, ACT From The Inside Out: Powerful Acting Tools To Transform Your Real Life.
As an actress, Shelene has graced the stage and screen with her talent of transforming herself into an array of characters; the role closest to her heart, is her own one woman stage piece, Underneath The Smile, where she collected and performed stories from her grandparents during WWII.  Shelene won a Meritorious Award, and an invitation to perform at the Kennedy Center Theater Festival.

She is also known for her role as the lead in the short action film CodeName: Dragonfly that went on to win recognition and awards at different film festivals.  Shelene won “Break Out Action Star” at the 2010 Pasadena Action on Film Int’l Festival and was nominated “Best Actress” at the American International Film Festival in Los Angeles.  She can also be seen as one of the hosts on the New Action On Film Channel Show airing on NBC Los Angeles.

As a producer, Shelene is currently working on several independent producing projects, including a film version of “Underneath The Smile”.

Shelene has been invited to speak at different organizations, companies, schools and has been interviewed on various news and radio shows such as Adobo Nation, Fox Business News, Fox Rising, Today Charlotte and Smart Money Radio.

Shelene holds a B.A. in Political Science from the University of California, Berkeley.
